  • J. Mason - Best high chair for my twins!I cannot say enough about this high chair!!! I have a 4 year old, too and we used 3 different kinds with him. We had a different hook on chair, which ripped the second time I used it. This chair I researched extensivly for my twins as I would have to buy 2 high chairs... and I could not be happier! I have a small eat in kitchen and dining area so I could not fit 2 standard size high chairs, or even 2 hook-on-the-chair kind (which I had for my older son and loved) so I found this, and have been using it for 4 months and LOVE IT!!!!! I highly recomend it to everyone! It is perfect! go ahead- you won't be disappointed! Enjoy!
  • D. Beal - Atkins Diet is not for everyoneI am a self professed expert regarding Dr. Robert Atkins. With this in mind, I would like to express my concerns regarding "the masses" skimming through this book to get to the "how to" part. Dr. Atkins' states clearly in the book that certain tests (blood chemistries, glucose tolerence, blood pressure and other monitoring tests) should be taken prior to entering into the Induction Phase of the diet. After atleast two weeks, the above tests should be taken again. Additionally, if medication is being taken, (i.e- high blood pressure or any blood sugar altering meds) the Atkins' Diet has a profound effect and therefor only a physician can regulate your medication. The diet will give most people positive results, but it is not for everyone. Seek out a physician whose eyes aren't closed to the truth about the eating pyramid. Daily dosages of vita-nutrients are required and make all the difference in the world.
  • S. Peek - Challenging and ConvictingI had heard about this book from a friend who was very moved by it. I decided to read it and have been deeply convicted by the message.

This is a hardcore challenge to comfortable American and western Christians particularly who are comfortable with going to church once a week and giving a few bucks to help the poor and thinking all is well.

The author uses Jesus' own words to convey a powerful wake up call. Just reading this may make not be pleasant for many readers. David Platt does a superb job of knocking believers out of their comfort zones. I really think that this is a 'must read' book for anyone who is serious about being a committed Christian. If every Christian lived like Platt challenges readers to do, they would turn the world upside down.

Read it and share a copy with a friend or two.
  • Mary Jo Sminkey "15 years of Amazon Reviews!" - Great Book on Slow Cooker RecipesI've always like America's Test Kitchen cookbooks and this one is no exception. This is the first book on slow cooker recipes I've gotten from ATK and I really am impressed with them. Slow cooker recipes tend to either try to be easy to assemble, and then use too many processed foods or lack flavor. Or they require a lot of work and/or fancy ingredients and defeat the whole purpose of the slow cooker method in the first place! The recipes in here seem to take a really nice balance, with lots of common pantry ingredients and relatively easy prep. Flipping through it I found a lot of recipes I immediately wanted to try out, and lots of well illustrated tips and ideas for using the slow cooker to its best potential. I'll update this review once I have a chance to try a few of the recipes (already have the ingredients for the first couple I want to do!) but first impressions of this cookbook are definitely very high!
