- Moriarty - Well researched, informativeIf you feel you always have to smile at a black person you don't know (but wouldn't for whites), if you think blacks are massively victimized, if you believe the Republicans had a Southern strategy, if you think Democrats brought the first blacks in as governors and representatives, if you believe rapes and murders of whites on black abound, if you believe it is black culture that created words like "ax" for ask, you should read this book because your mind has been mugged by the mainstream media, poor education, and race mongers like Al (King has a dream, I have a scheme) Sharpton.
Coulter has a point of view, and it can come on as strong, but she backs up her points. She keeps the book light by adding liberal (oh my!) doses of humor.
Unlike one reviewer, I did not run across a lot of confusing sentences. There were a couple I needed to reread. Mostly, had to look up words new to me, which were well used once I understood them. - birdlover - It REALLY does shorten time from outbreak to healed!!!I've had cold sores in the past, usually 1 or 2 outbreaks a year. I just woke up last Wednesday (day 1) and had a swollen, tingly upper lip--yup, another outbreak. I went and picked up a tube of Abreva at a local drugstore in a moment of desperation on Thursday (day 2), as I'd never tried it before, but figured since it was around $20, it must do something. The swelling was noticeably better after 12 hours! By Saturday evening (day 4) all that was left of the outbreak was a red spot where the blister had been, with no more weeping or swelling. This stuff REALLY WORKS!! No, it's not a cure, but it made my outbreak last only 4 days compared to a week or longer just trying to get by on OTC lip moisturizers or Neosporin (to prevent a secondary bacterial infection). I'd definitely recommend this stuff to anyone with cold sores. Now that I have my little tube, I'll be ready to try it immediately when the next outbreak starts. A miracle in a tube and worth the price! Remember to wash hands before and after applying the cream. Rub it in gently and the white will not be noticeable at all.
- James Miller - The truth needs to be toldAnn Coulter's wit and sarcasm are once again in full force, exposing the truth about the true racial demagoguery of the left and the Democrat party. They believed they had the right to own black human beings, and when they lost that " ownership" they treated them with contempt and relegated them to second class status for the next hundred years. Then they had the audacity to claim credit for the civil rights act, and once again took "ownership" of that race. See the disdain they show for any black who rejects the democrat platform. Home run, Ann. I expected no less.
- Lincs Reader - Unique and Magical Fairy StorySamantha Van Leer is Jodi Picoult's daughter, and the idea for Between The Lines came from her. Jodi and Samantha developed the idea together, and have written the story jointly. It will be published in the UK on 5 July 2012 by Hodder and Stoughton.
I'm a massive fan of Jodi Picoult's novels, devouring each one as they are published. I also read quite a lot of Young Adult fiction and was intrigued by the idea of this novel.
Between The Lines is a very clever concept - a story within a story. Delilah is a modern-day American teenager, she's a bit awkward, she doesn't hang out with the cool crowd and she is obsessed with Oliver.
Oliver is no ordinary boy, he's a character in a children's fairy story. He's just a line drawing, a figment of an author's imagination, but he is Delilah's dream man. She knows the story by heart, she knows every line and every illustration ..... until one day she notices that one of the pictures has changed ...... and then Oliver speaks to her!
Combining fairy story with a modern coming-of-age tale this really is a very clever and unique novel. Yes, it is magic, but it also deals with real issues, those faced by teenage girls all over the world. Jodi Picoult's writing style is at the forefront throughout the story, peppered along the way with some real humour that at times is almost tongue-in-cheek.
Oliver is desperate to get out of the fairy tale and Delilah is desperate for a friend. The fast paced plot follows their attempts to be together. Delilah has to deal with her Mother's increasing worries about her, how can she prove that she doesn't need to see a shrink, even though she's been caught talking to a book?
Between The Lines is great fun and an ideal way for younger readers to sample Jodi Picoult's writing style. Samantha Van Leer has inherited her Mother's talent and I'm positive that this is the start of a very successful writing career for her. Her imagination combined with her humour are an ideal mix.
Suspend all disbelief and enjoy this story for what it is, a magical fairy story with a cast of real-life characters. - Yu-jin Chia "Yu-Jin Chia" - Very easy to useIt took almost as long to install this program as to finish my will. Granted, I don't have hugely complex finances, but it still was a LOT easier than I thought it would be.
The whole process is pretty similar to TurboTax, which I guess shouldn't be a surprise since it's also an Intuit product. Most of the steps have additional explanation if needed, and when you print it out it includes directions for what else you need to do (if anything). The whole thing takes into account state laws and is easy to make changes to if necessary.
Aside from a will, you can generate a power of attorney document, healthcare directives, and directions for an executor. Generally speaking, it does a good job of reminding you of all the things you might own that are of any value, and all you have to do is list them. If you don't have all the information, it lets you leave partial descriptions in most cases and you can update it later.
You can export the files as pdf format, though of course it's not valid unless signed/notarized. A book is included for some frequently asked questions and scenarios, mostly related to handling divorces, potentially disputed assets, and such.
Doing all the documents took me about 2 hours. It's a testament to how easy this product is to use that it'll probably take a lot longer for you to print, sign, and notarize the documents than to generate them (yeah, I still have to finish that...) After that, enjoy some peace of mind. This is a great alternative to hiring a lawyer, and allows you to work at your own pace.
