- Lola F. - McDermott has a new fan!This is the first time I’ve read Ms. McDermott’s writing and I am so glad I bought this book. Her writing is lyrical and I found myself invested in the character very early on. Sad at times, but I believe the writing is so sublime, the pretext so rich, I didn’t mind. I’ll be buying more of her books!

It also explained a little bit about the Roman emperors and what kind of life they lived and the Jewish priests and hierarchy at that time. It will definitely help me when I pray the rosary and meditate on its mystery's.
